The Gold Range of Canada's Rocky Mountains combines awe-inspiring views and outstanding alpine terrain, from glaciers to wildflower meadows to high mountain passes. You'll experience the very best of it on Heli Canada Adventures' six-day backpacking adventure, hiking through untouched wilderness with members of our Heli Canada Adventures team confidently guiding you. The trip starts with an exhilarating helicopter flight from historic Revelstoke, British Columbia, heading deep into the Canadian Rockies. This is nature at its most pristine - no trails, just unprepared terrain, expertly navigated by our highly qualified guides...a perfect backpacking adventure.

On Heli Canada Adventures' backpacking trip, you'll be hiking creek crossings and alpine grass slopes, flat glacier traverses and boulder fields, scree areas and wildflower meadows. You'll be backpacking amid high country flora and fauna, including caribou, bald eagles and mountain goats, practicing your low-impact skills as you're hiking. Our backpacking adventure always offers plenty of time to stop, capture your surroundings on film, and simply admire nature's profound beauty and sheer power.

We'll be covering approximately three miles daily, ascending (and descending) an average of 1500 feet. Hiking boots must be sturdy, with excellent ankle support, on this uneven terrain. You should be comfortable carrying a pack weighing 20 to 25 pounds - enough for your sleeping gear, tent and clothes. The staff will cache food and spare clothing at the five campsites that you'll be hiking between on your backpacking adventure.

Camp life is one of our heli backpacking adventure highlights. Rainbow trout wait in nearby lakes; you could also try rock climbing, swimming or honing your photography skills. Top it all off with stargazing in the brilliant wilderness night sky. Your backpacking guides, who share their expertise and knowledge as you're hiking, will ensure that you're indulging in delicious, alfresco dining.
